Marks uses these skills to weave an entertaining show that includes
inspired vocal twists on old standards, audience participation musical
challenges, superb guitar instrumentals, song parodies, and passionate
vocal performances.
Danny Marks is the host of his own radio show devoted to the blues---
BLUZ.FM91---on JAZZ FM in Toronto. A multi-year host of the Toronto Blues
Society Annual Guitar Workshop, Marks has played with such performers as Bo
Diddley, Big Bill Morganfield, Rita Coolidge, Rick James,and on one
memorable occasion, Tiny Tim. In Canada, CBC Radio fans best know
Marks as one of the stars of "The Hum Line" on the popular national show
Basic Black.
Marks' guitar work and original theme music have been heard in movie,
television and radio productions in Canada and the U.S.A. In 2000, Danny
Marks was the subject of a TV Ontario/Vision TV documentary for the series
"Centre Stage Chronicles".
His first CD, "Guitarchaeology", featured original, instrumental
numbers and drew praise from international reviewers. His next cd "Surfin
Safari", a collection of uptempo surf guitar instrumentals was released
on Avalon USA.
Danny Marks first acheived national recognition when, as a 17- year-old
guitar sensation, he joined EDWARD BEAR, a noted Canadian group that had
international hits with "Last Song" and "You, Me and Mexico".
